21 Day Fast

Fasting at its core is a hunger and longing for the presence of God. It demonstrates God is King of our lives by giving something up that steals our heart’s affection. Fasting reminds us God is more important than anything, even what sustains us physically.

Frequently in the Old Testament, we see entire communities of people participate in a fast together. Jesus also fasted before He began His public ministry.

As we prepare for the move to City Station, we want to prepare ourselves spiritually and intentionally do battle against anything that would steal our hunger for God. We want to lay down our rights and desires so that Christ may be glorified.

Fast begins Sunday morning, May 27
Fast ends Sunday morning, June 17

What will you lay down for 21 days? What is something specific that steals your affection? What will require sacrifice?

Fast suggestions:

  •     Daniel fast (For acceptable foods, foods to avoid, and recipes click here.)
  •     Social media, posting and scrolling
  •     Video games
  •     Television/Movies
  •     One day a week fast from food and all liquids except water

On Sunday mornings during the fast, we will only be serving fruit to respect those choosing to do a Daniel fast. Coffee will still be available.

To learn more about fasting and why we are doing this as a church, watch Shannon’s message by clicking here.

We're moving!

See you June 24 for our first Sunday at City Station!
