Shelter in Carrollton and Serving Our Community

THS will open for overnight stay at Tabernacle Baptism Thursday, December 28 at 4:00 pm.  At this time it looks like they may be open through Friday or Saturday, January 5 and/or 6 as well. Anyone needing meals or other services is welcome; staying overnight not required. As Georgia weather can change by the hour, look for changes on the THS Facebook page or call (706) 888-7600 or (770) 832-7059.

If you would like to help the shelter meet needs in the community, they need volunteers to help serve and clean-up meals as well as just mingle. They would also gladly accept help with providing meals. They prepare up to 40 meals for lunch and dinner, plus drinks, snacks, and dessert. Therefore, you can:

  • provide snacks, drinks, or dessert - in any quantity - to be combined with other similar contributions.
  • sign-up for a particular meal on a specific day - during our overnight stays or on a particular Monday, when the shelter serves hot lunch. A person, family, or group can sign-up to provide a meal and such meals might be supplemented by other contributions of bread or dessert, etc.
  • frozen casseroles or bags of soup can be provided to be used as needed
  • provide PBJ sandwiches for bag lunches - given out when guests leave an event or program.
  •

Anyone interested in meal type service should call Vicki McCorsley at (770) 313-5207
